UNCLE OF IDABEL MERCHANT DIES IN TEXAS SATURDAY
MILES, Texas, Jan. 21. --- Funeral services were held here Sunday for W. A. Hunton, 78, retired rancher and stockman. A native of Alabama, Hunton came here 28 years ago from Bynum Hill County, Texas.
Surviving are the widow, one son, W. R. Hunton, president of the Guaranty Bond State Bank here; four daughters, Mrs. A. H. Lewing and Miss Nell Hunton of this city; Mrs. Foster Conger of Sterling City, and Mrs. O. M. Cole of Water Valley, Texas; a brother, H. O. Hunton of Costa Mesa, Cal., and two sisters, Mrs. M. A. Woodroof of Anaheim, Cal., amd Mrs. C. E. Phillips of Houston, Texas.

Mr. Hunton was an uncle of L. W. Woodroff, Idabel merchant, who was unable to attend the funeral on account of the inclemency of the weather.

William's father was William R. Hunton, who moved from Georgia and was living in Texas in 1880. His mother was Elizabeth Cox born about 1828 in North Carolina and who married William R. Hunton on March 10, 1842 in Troup, Georgia. Elizabeth was also alive and living in Texas is 1880.
Born in Alabama, United States on 12 Feb 1856 to William R. Hunton and Elizabeth J. Cox. William A Hunton married Mary "Mollie" A. Davis and had 5 children. He passed away on 19 Jan 1935 in Miles, Runnels, Texas, USA.
