Thelma was born November 10, 1914, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn Calvin and Sylvia Knox Barbe. She married Charles William Kinkeade on
April 23, 1937 in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1996.
She was a lifelong Keokuk resident and graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the Class of 1932. She had been employed by the Hubinger Company from 1932 to 1942. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, bowling, playing Bridge and Scrabble, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing the piano and organ.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Kinkeade of San Francisco, California; sisters-in-law, Muriel Kinkeade of Keokuk, Iowa and Helen Barbe of Camarillo, California; special niece, Susie Kraus of Keokuk, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Glenn, Milton and Orrin, and a sister in infancy.
There will be no visitation and a private family inurnment will be held at Keokuk National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
