NAMPA — Memorial services for Alta Poage, 96, San Jose, Calif., formerly of Nampa, who died Saturday at San Jose, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, by the Rev. Clare Willcuts, Boise Friends Church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

She was born June 9, 1881, at Springfield, Ill., where she was reared and educated. She married Merle Sylvester Poage June 9, 1905. They lived in Nampa for several years. In 1966, they moved to the San Jose area. He died Oct. 3, 1966.

Surviving are two sons, Lyle of South Dakota and Vincent of Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Isabel Ensign of Cupertino, Calif., and Mrs. Norma Ostrander of Hawaii; a brother, George Hoover of Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
