The owner of Battershell Turkey Farm from 1936-63, Roy G. Battershell, 85, of 12444 N. Rockhill Ave. was pronounced dead on arrival Friday at 12:40 p.m. at Alliance City Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Battershell was born Sept. 7, 1895, in Alliance to William and Alice Caves Battershell. He was a member of Farm Council and a life member of Lexington Grange and had served on the Lexington School Board for 25 years.
His wife, Blanche E. Battershell, preceded him in death Aug. 31 this year.
