Herschel P. Cloyd,
Farmer, Dies at 90
Herschel P. Cloyd, 90 farmer and retired representative of International representative of International Harvester Co. in the South, died at 1:30 p.m. yesterday in a Nashville convalescent home, following an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at Mr. Cloyd's homein Green Hill, Tenn. The Rev. A. H. Willoughby and Elder Drake Macon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Cloyd Family cemetery.
A native of Wilson county, Mr. Cloyde was the son of the late John W. Cloyd, Sr. and Sarah Wade Cloyd.
He was a member of Cloyd's Presbyterian church, Mount Juliet, a church for which his family donated the foundation land.
He is survived by five nieces, Mrs. A. C. Clarr, Mrs. Spencer Garnett, Kathleen Ligon, Louise Ligon, all of Nashville, and Mrs. O. P. Stinson, Decatur, Ala.; six nephews, Bethel Ligon, Lebanon; Cloyd Ligon, Nashville, Donald Ligon, Birmingham, Ala.; Duncan Ligon Hermitage, Tenn.; Frank Ligon, Mount Juliet Tenn., and Percy Cloyd.
