Lambert Stanley Erickson was born on March 14, 1916, in Kingsburg, California to Charles and Tillie Erickson, one of eleven children. He died on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at his home in Fresno at age 95.


He farmed grapes most of his life in the Barstow/Biola area and retired in 1983. After retirement he and his wife Pauline traveled extensively. Lambert loved golf, playing actively until the age of 94. He served almost five years in the field artillery during World War II, rising to the rank of 1st Lieutenant.


In addition to his parents and first wife, Jacqueline Courtney, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Blanche Ekberg, Doris Samuels, Gertrude Lohman, Verna Miner and Geraldine Lenocker; and by three brothers, Ralph Erickson, Oliver Erickson and Randolph Erickson.


He is survived by his wife Pauline; his son, Phillip Erickson and his wife Hazel of Kingsburg; his daughter, Sue Erickson of Sanger; step-daughter, Jan Worrel and her husband, Rod of Fresno; granddaughters, Sarah Erickson and her husband, Chris Rogers of Seattle and Katie Erickson and her husband, Eric Schneeman; great-grandson Bennett of San Antonio; step-granddaughter, Shelley Gier and her husband Troy of Lake Tahoe; and step-grandson, Garrett Ware of Santa Barbara; step-great granddaughter, Kaley Reynolds of Fresno. Lambert is also survived by his brother, Calvin Erickson and his wife, Jean of Saugus, and Grant Erickson of Santa Cruz; and many nieces, nephews and friends.


A Memorial Service will be held in the G.L. Johnson Chapel at Peoples Church, 7172 N. Cedar Ave, Fresno, on Friday, September 9, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to Hinds Hospice, 1616 West Shaw, Suite A-5, Fresno, Ca. 93711.
