Mrs. O. S. Yoder Laid To Rest

Thursday Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Whyte Yoder were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 in the First Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Sale Lilly, Jr. Pallbearers were Byron Whitaker, Dow Spence, Earl Jones, Robert Veazey, Robt. Fielder and Robert Hynds. Interment was in the Van Alstyne cemetery, under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home. Mrs. Yoder was the widow of the late O. S. Yoder, and passed away at her home here Tuesday evening at 7:10.
Mrs. Yoder was born in Arkansas on Oct. 29, 1880. She had been a resident of Van Alstyne for many years. She was a member of the Methodist Church, being past president of the Woman's Society of Christian Service. She was a past president of The Culture Club. She was a gentlewoman, friendly, loyal, and leaves a host of friends to mourn her passing.
She is survived by two sons; O. Carter Yoder and Howard W. Yoder of Van Alstyne; by one grandchild; by three brothers, Frank C. Whyte of Hattiesburg, Miss., Oscar Whyte of Springtown, Texas, and ___ Whyte of Belen, New Mexico; and by a sister, Mrs. Nannie McCormick of Fort Worth.
