A native of Pendleton Co., he was born March 2, 1872 and was a son of the late James D. and Rebecca (Heavener) Harper.
He was twice married.
His first wife, Mrs. Texie (Mauzy) Harper, died in 1898.
Surviving are his second wife, Mrs. Bertha (Ketterman) Harper; five daughters, Mrs. Arlie Ketterman, Mrs. Willard Hedrick, Onego; Mrs. Delmar Teter, Mt. Solon, Va.; Mrs. Norman Clatterbuck, Mrs. Roy Smith, Baltimore; six sons, Marvin Harper, Mouth of Seneca; Archie Harper, Onego; Roy Harper, Elkins; Lester Harper, Guy Harper, Warren, Ohio; Darr Harper, with the Armed Forces in Alaska.
A sister, Alice Harper, of Goshen, Va. also survives.
Services will be conducted tomorrow at 1 p. m. in the United Brethren Church of Mouth-of-Seneca with Rev. E. B. Keplinger of the North Fork Memorial Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Riverton.
