Mr. Phillippi was born August 12, 1848, the son of Daniel and Catherine Phillippi of Somerset county. He married Miss Margaret Patrick, of Lonaconing, Md. There are several surviving brothers and sisters. They are Aaron Phillippi, Morrill, Kansas; Mrs. David Berkey, Davenport, Nebraska; Lee W. Phillippi, Los Angeles, California; Austin Phillippi, Mrs. H.E. Miller, Rockwood; C.R. Phillippi, Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. J. H. Van Sickel, Cassellman, Pa. There are eight surviving children, Charles A., Fairmont; Clara, at home; Louis A., Masontown; Katherine M., Dorothy, Eleanor, Margaret and Robert L., at home. Mrs. Phillippi also survives. The deceased was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Royal Arcanum.
The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 2:30, with services at the home in charge of Dr. W. Hamiton Spence. The internment will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
