Frances Louise (Lovejoy) Zumwalt was born on July 11, 1921 near Tipton, Oklahoma to Melvin Early and Buna Vera (Hasley) Lovejoy. She attended Tipton Public Schools graduating from Tipton High School in 1939. She later attended Altus Junior College for one year and transferred to Southwestern State University in Weatherford where she finished an Associate Degree in Business. She was united in marriage to Jack E. Zumwalt in April of 1947 in Frederick. Louise began working at the First National Bank in 1948 and retired as executive secretary in 1986. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frederick as well as being active in the Cub Scouts and Little League program when her children were young. Louise and Jack were members of the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Club. She was the organizer for the hospital auxiliary at Memorial Hospital in Frederick. Louise was the recipient of the Most Useful Woman award in 1956.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jack & Jane Zumwalt of Tahlequah; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Peggy Lovejoy of Oklahoma City; two great-grandchildren, Randy Embry of Stillwater and Michelle Gunn of Yukon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Scott Zumwalt, Joe Lynn and Timmy who died in infancy; and one granddaughter: Kristi Gunn; two brothers: Preston & Earl Lovejoy; two sisters: Helen Taylor and Oleta Housley.
