Mrs. Georgia Brann Yancey of 1111 Red Bank Rd., Virgilina, VA died on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the age of 76. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on July 27, 1936 to the late Henry Howard Smith and the late Dexter Elliott Smith and was married to the late Rufus Anderson Yancey. Mrs. Yancey was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church and a farmer.

Survivors include three daughters, Gail Y. West and husband, Bob of Clarksville, VA, Ginger Y. Groover and husband, Richard of Calabash, NC, Yvette Y. Rice and husband, Wendell of Roxboro, NC; one son, Andy Yancey of Virgilina, VA; six grandchildren, Virgil Sehen, Chastity Wilson, Dexter Snow, Cody Snow, Mikaela Rice, Miranda Rice; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Aarons Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Joe McDowell and Rev. Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at her home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Main St., South Boston, VA 24592
