Alma P. Degler, 84, formerly of Middletown, departed this life on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Hospice of Central Pennsylvania Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, Linglestown.

She was the daughter of the late William P. and Rosanna E. Gilbert Rhode.

She was a retired cafeteria worker for the Middletown School District.

Mrs. Degler was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two brothers, a sister, and seven grandchildren.

She was the widow of Richard R. Degler, Sr. and was preceded in death by her daughter, Alma Jean Degler; son, Richard R. Degler, Jr.; grandson, David Degler; sister, Elsie Walker and a brother, Arthur Rhode.

A tribute to her life will be celebrated at 3 p.m., Friday, in St. Peter's Church, Spring & N. Union Streets, Middletown.

Burial will be in the Middletown Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1:30 p.m. to time of services on Friday, at the church.

Arrangements by the Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown.
