Sam Isom, 75, of Murphysboro, died Saturday at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
He was born Jan. 1, 1893, in Campbell Hill, the son of Harley W. and Rhoda Birge Isom. He was married to Augusta Cluster in Murphysboro on Sept. 13, 1915.
He was a member of the Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge and was a retired employee of Central Illinois Public Service Company.
He leaves his wife; a daughter. Mrs. Dorothy Loy of Murphysboro; a son,. J. S. of Fairborn, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs. Goldie Dudenbostel of West Frankfort. One brother preceded him in death.
