Myrtle Evelyn Isley, the last remaining
member of her family, was born February
28, 1886 in Sheridan County near Buffalo
Park to Arvilla and James Isley and departed
this life January 3, 1966 at the age of 79
years, 10 months and 3 days.

Myrtle spent her early days in Kansas, born
in a sod house, experiencing a cyclone that
destroyed her home at the age of 9 at
Baileyville, Kansas, May 1895. As a young
lady she clerked in a store at Axtell, Kansas
when she met and married a young Spanish-
American War Veteran, Sirness J. Sharpe,
May 12, 1906.

To this union five children were born; Mrs.
Bernard Alfers (Delores), Mulvane, Kansas,
Mrs. Carl Winquist (Harriett), Vliets, Kansas
Tennyson C. Connet, Montpelier, Idaho,
Sidney L. Connet, Falls Church, Virginia and
Frank S. Connet, (deceased October 1, 1965)
her husband preceded her in death in 1946.

November 11, 1954 she was united in
marriage to Ray Connet of Vliets and spent
11 happy years on a farm north of Vliets.

Besides her four surviving children, a kind
and loving husband she leaves to mourn,
her twelve grandchildren, nine great-grand-
children, a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Connet joined the Presbyterian Church
at the age of 11 at Baileyville, Kansas and
during her later years she attended the
Axtell Pentecostal Church where she loved
to worship and was faithful to her Lord.

Memorial services were held Friday,January
7, 1966 at the Pentecostal Church with
Reverend Robert Boyle officiating.

Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery,
Axtell, Kansas.

Pallbearers were Ernest Boyle, Harlan Elder,
Argle Curell, Edward Olson and Jack Boyle.
