"George R. Banks Dies. George R. Banks, 71, died last evening at his home near Merrifield, Town of Scipio. He had been in ill health for some time. He was born on May 18, 1858, in Scipio, and had always lived there. He was engaged in farming. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Nichols Banks, a daughter, Mrs. Volney VanLiew of Scipio; a brother, Frank Banks of Scipio; a sister, Mrs. Lewis Smith of Moravia, a granddaughter, Evelyn VanLiew of Scipio. The funeral will he held at the home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. Caspar R. Gregory, pastor of the Scipioville Presbyterian Church will conduct the services. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Scipioville."
