WEST TEXAS CITY — Mr. Donald A Dupree, Sr., 56, of Texas City died Tuesday, September 8th at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12th at Greater Bell Zion Baptist Church in Texas City, Rev. Zephaniah Phillips officiating.
Burial will follow at Rising Star Cemetery in La Marque. Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mainland Funeral Home.
Born July 31, 1936 in Grapeland, Houston County, Texas, Mr. Dupree was retired from Mainland Center Hospital after 29 years of service and a member of the Galveston County Peace Officers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Denise Dupree of Texas City; children, Donald A. Dupree, Jr. of Crockett and Donna Rene Dupree Lowe of Texas City; step-children, Demerick B. Nolley, Kymyaka K. Nolley, Michael N. Chinn, Jr. all of Texas City; Edwin Robinson of San Diego, CA., Anthony Wayne Scott, Chionita Pierre both of Hitchcock and Tina Harrison Ellis of Texas City; sisters, Fannie Hart of Texas City, Mary Dawson of Grapeland, twin-sister, Dorothy Dupree of Crockett; brothers, Sam A. Dupree of Houston and Albert H. Dupree of Crockett; 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; God-children Danita Dupree and Zcoure Dawnyale Robinson; devotedfather and mother-in-law, Henry and Elzena Nolley; daughter-in-law, Gwen Dupree of Crockett, Tx.; son-in-law, John Lowe of Texas City, Tx.; devoted friend, Willie Harris; sister-in-law, Geneva Dupree; brothers-in-law, Charles Dawson and Clyde Hart; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
