Born on Nov. 7, 1952 in El Dorado, she was the daughter of William Bruce Simpson and Ethel Marie Strickland Simpson. Linda retired after 23 years as a cash account manager with Harris County Government in Houston. She was of the Baptist faith. Linda was a good cook and enjoyed doing for others. She also loved her two dogs, Prissy and Donna Sue.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Jane Nalley, Georgia Brown, and Marilyn Johnson; and an infant brother, Lewis Berry Simpson.
Survivors are her daughter, Cheryl (Justin) Ballenger of Camden; grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Harvey of Camden and Dylan Cuevas of Pass Christian, Miss.; a great-grandson, Jacob Ryan Harvey; her sisters, Joyce (Ron) Smith of Cottonwood, Ariz., Kathy Pennington of Tinsman, and Mary (Don) Slayter of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers, John (Evelyn) Simpson of Taylor and James (Terri) Simpson of El Dorado.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, in the chapel of Young's Funeral Directors with the Rev. Dan Hall officiating. Cremation will follow the services with a private memorial service at Means Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
