Myrtle Irene Ransom was the daughter of William Elba Ransom and Maude Thompson. On November 21, 1932, she married Thomas Charles Buckle II in Bandon, Oregon. Charles Buckle was the son of Thomas Charles Buckle and Mollie Leona Jones. He was one of 11 children born in that family.

Charles and Irene had five children:
Iverna Arlene Buckle, born in 1934
Doreen Marie Buckle born in 1936
Thomas Charles Buckle III born in 1937
Carl Cecil Buckle born in 1939
Edwin Waldo Buckle, born in 1943

Irene's husband Charles died in 1971.
