Thomas Goldthwaite (ca. 1610-1683) is believed to have arrived in New England from England in1630. He was living at Roxbury in 1632 and at Salem in 1636. He and his wife, Elizabeth, had three children, 1637-1642. He died at Salem. His grandson, Samuel Goldthwaite (1637-1718) of Salem, and his wife, Elizabeth Cheever (1645-ca. 1726), had ten children, 1667-1688. Descendants listed lived in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Ohio, New Hampshire, Maine and elsewhere.

Burial: Chester Twp. Cem. Sec. A, Lot 71. On the north side of the Seth Frissell monument is "Ruth Street, 1778-1845". On Lot 72 is a separate stone
