Flora Kathyrn Allison Cundiff, 95, died peacefully in her home on April 12, 2012 in Perkins, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Coyle, Oklahoma with Pastor Merl Kinser officiating. Friends and family will gather for a special lunch at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 before the graveside service at the Progress School House. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Flora was born on January 16, 1917 in Missouri to Tolbert Whitfield and Anna Allison. Flora was the second to youngest of ten brothers and sisters. She graduated from Coyle High School in the 1930's. She married Edward Louis Cundiff on August 22, 1940 in a double wedding with Chet and Lavone Cundiff during a joint outing in Arkansas. She worked for Fullerton and Sacramento schools in California.
Flora was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a proud Democrat. She enjoyed quality time with family and friends. She loved square dancing, traveling, quilting, gardening, and cooking. She was a proud member of the Flying Red Horse Traveling Square Dance Club for approximately five years, and they went on special outings, especially to Las Vegas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughters, Leeanne Vaughan and Betty Kay Vaughan; ten brothers and sisters, most recently Wanda Fay Woodgates.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara C. Wolf of Perkins, OK; grandchildren, Robert (Liz) Vaughan of Victoria, TX, Dawne (Rick) Mayhew of Kansas City, MO, and Christopher Rolland Wolf of Perkins, OK; great-grandchildren, Eric, Kearsten, David, Caleb and Payton Vaughan, Chase Reynolds, Tori and Sahvanna Mayhew, and Michael and Carson Wolf.
Pallbearers will include Robert Vaughan, Chris Wolf, Eric Vaughan, Chase Reynolds and Don Luster.
