Delaware County recorded its 21st fatal traffic accident of the year early Sunday when Paul William Berg, 38, R.R. 2, Yorktown, was killed in a two-car headon collision on the Yorktown-Gaston Pike about .1 mile south of County Road 475-N, at 12:19 a.m. Berg's death came almost one week to the hour after the death of the county's 20th victim...

Berg had lived in Yorktown for about seven years, moving here from Maysville, W.Va. He served 11 years in the Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Yorktown American Legion and the Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; two children, Pamela Jayne and Paul Frederick, both at home; his father, Noah Berg, Maysville; a sister, Mrs. Esther Delwader, Mt. Jackson, W.Va.; and seven brothers, Noah Jr., Muncie, Dempsey, Baltimore, Md., Denby, Kremit and Kermit, all of Maysville, Olaf of Upper Track, W.Va.; and Roscoe of Franklin, W.Va.
Funeral services will be held at the Richman-Prillaman Funeral Home in Yorktown Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Clyde Smith of the Yorktown Nazarene Church officiating. Burial will be in the Yorktown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday.
