Mr. Gromiller was born in Hollidaysburg Oct 9, 1909, a son of James W. and Regina May Marks Gromiller, and married Avelline C. Filtz of Hollidaysburg in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, Oct. 1, 1930.
Surviving are his wife, a son, James W. of Danville, Ill., two grandchildren and his mother. Mr. Gromiller served as treasurer and assistant secretary of Hollidaysburg Trust Co. for 40 years and at the time of his death was vice president and a member of the board of directors of the bank. He served as member of Borough Council; borough treasurer; past president of the Hollidaysburg Chamber of Commerce, Hollidaysburg Kiwanis Club, Group 6, Pennsylvania Bankers Association, and was president and general manager of the Hollidaysburg Green Lawn Cemetery Association.
He was a member of Lodge 102, BPOE; a graduate of St. Vincent's Preparatory School at Latrobe and Pennsylvania State University and was awarded the Delta Beta Xi award of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity for his efforts on behalf of the fraternity.
Mr. Gromiller was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and was active in the affairs of the church.
Friends will be received in the Plank Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
