George L. "Buddy" McInnes Jr., 61, of McAlester, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in McAlester. He was born in McAlester on April 25, 1951, to George Sr. and Ellen (Snell) McInnes. He grew up in McAlester and attended McAlester schools and had lived here all his life. He worked in construction for several years and also worked for the railroad for a short time. He was a people person — he loved to visit with friends and strangers alike whenever he could. He was devoted to his mother and was her primary caregiver for several years prior to her death. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patsy Lou Eagleton Tucker, who died in 1984. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law and their children, Jim and Sandra McInnes, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Mike and Steve Melchim; a nephew, Don Eagleton, of Claremore; and a niece and her children, Vickie McNall-Jameson, of McAlester, and Clinton Jameson and Nicole Sturginer. Funeral services are Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with J.P. Hackler officiating. The family will welcome friends immediately following the service at the Comfort Suites in McAlester. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
