Charles Gwyn Chatham, 82, Campbellsville, died Monday, Dec. 23, 1991, at the Metzmeier Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was the son of the late James Alexander Chatham and Grace Gwyn Chatham of Elkin, N.C. Chatham was senior vice president of Chatham Manufacturing Company for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Wood Chatham; one daughter and son-in-law, Alice Chatham Loftin and Charles Ivey Loftin, Roanoke, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Wood Chatham and Patricia Grimsley Chatham, Winston-Salem, N.C.; three grandchildren, Catherine Wood Loftin, Christopher Gwyn Loftin, and Charles Wood Chatham, Jr.; one brother, Alexander Chatham, Jr., Elkin. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 1991, at the First United Methodist Church with burial in the Brookside Cemetery. Dr. Patrick McDowell officiated. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Jack Wright Endowment Fund of the First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville.
