Mrs. Winnie Padgett, 71, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the George Ade Memorial Hospital. She had been ill 11 months.
Mrs. Padgett was born near Brook and was married to Harley A. Padgett in 1915. They lived on a farm in Washington Township near Brook until 1955 when he retired, and they moved to Brook. He died in 1956.
She was a member of the Mount Zion EUB Church, WCTU, and the Home Demonstration Club.
Mrs. Padgett is survived by one son, Venis of Brook; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Houghton of Plymouth and Mrs. Greta Otte of Columbus, Indiana; and one brother, Ray Risley of Brook.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Mt. Zion EUG Church with the Reverend Elden Shingleton officiating. Interment was in Buswell Cemetery in Washington township.
