He later owned and operated Armstrong Nursery and Landscaping for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife Jackie Sheflin Armstrong, a sister Bonita (Wilmer) Matthews of Lake Placid, Florida; daughter, Donnie (Ed) Kean of Tallahassee, Florida and son, Ronald (Sandi) Armstrong of Floral City, Florida, two step-sons Richard Sheflin of Bradenton, Florida and Michael Sheflin of Belleville, Wisconsin. He was predeceased by three brothers; Mickey Armstrong, James Armstrong and Horace R. Armstrong all of Palmetto, Florida. He was also predeceased by a step-daughter Karen J. Sheflin of Sarasota, Florida in 2006.
