Funeral Services for Byron William (Barney) Hale, 48, Texhoma farmer and rancher. will be held Sunday at 2:30 pm from the First Christian church of Texhoma, Allen H. Duffy, minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Texhoma cemetery under the direction of Dawson Welch Funeral Home. Hale died late Thursday afternoon in Texhoma after an extended illness.
Born March 6, 1913, at Range, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs H. D. Hale, Sr. He moved to Texhoma with his parents in 1928 and graduated from Texhoma High School in 1932.
He was married to Miss Mabel Harvey on August 14, 1933 in Texhoma, and following his marriage went into the service station business, later going into farming and ranching.
He was a member of the First Christian church, Texhoma Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Rotary Club and Kiva Shrine of Amarillo. Hale is survived by his wife and three sons, Harvey, Rex and Herbert, all of Texhoma; his mother, Mrs. Ella Hale, Guymon; four brothers, Bruce, Hooker; Bob, Guymon; H. D. Jr. Ulysses, and Jack of Meade, Kans, and four sisters, Mrs. Lorna Sellers, Clovis, N. M.; Mrs. Emma Presnell. San Gabriel, Calif.; Mrs. Erlene Littlefield, Meade, and Mrs. Elsie Tate, Wichita Falls, Tex. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
