Roger was born on October 29, 1950 at Yankton to Martin and Dorothy (Wilson Ausdemore) DeBlauw. He grew up south of Constance, Nebraska and graduated from Crofton High School in 1970. He attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska and then began farming on the home place where they also had a dairy herd. Roger and Nancy Toporek were married on December 19, 1981 in Constance. Roger retired from farming due to health issues in 1996 and then worked for about a year at Mid America Dairy in Hartington.
Roger was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Constance and was a former 4H leader. He enjoyed going to farm auctions with his dad and liked to collect toy John Deere tractors. He liked to tinker around with things and see what he could make. His beloved companion was his dog, Sam. Farming was Roger's real love and he was always a very caring and generous person.
Roger is survived by his wife, Nancy of Crofton; a brother, Dennis and Margaret DeBlauw of Hartington; 2 sisters, Alice Marie and Joe Noonan of Columbus, Nebraska; Mary Ellen Cayler of Crofton and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Doris Ann Jones, 3 brothers-in-law, Everett Jones, Phillip Cayler, Bill Toporek and his parents-in-law, Henry and Jennie Toporek.
Pallbearers will be Paul DeBlauw, Alan DeBlauw, Jason DeBlauw, Gary Woockman, Burl Mormann and Doug Kristensen.
