Anthony Dinsdale, died Friday night at the home of his son, James Dinsdale, at Beech Pines in the town of Pierrepont, after an illness of about four weeks. The funeral will be held this afternoon, from the house. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. C. G. Rool of Canton. Internment will be mad in Breech Plains cemetery.
Mr. Dinsdale was born in Redmire, Yorkshire, England, April 1, 1837. His father was a tailor and he learned the tailor's trade at an early age. He immigrated to Canada, when a young man and worked at his trade there. While there he became acquainted with Almeda Tupper, a daughter of Mandrick Tupper, on of the early settlers of Pierpont, who was then working as a milliner in Canada. They were married there Feb 18, 1864 (not sure can't read year very well) anf for a time continued to live there but later removed to Mrs. Dinsdale's old home in Beech Plains, where they engaged in farming on the farm where she died about twelve years ago.
He leaves surviving two sons Thomas of Chicago and James with whom he lived. He also left an adopted daughter Mrs. Josie Shipman of Newark, N. Y. Two other adopted children pre-deceased him.
As a young man in England Mr. Dinsdale served in the British army and also served in the Canadian army.
