He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eleanor D. Screws.
Survivors include two brothers, Drennen (Betty) Screws and Lerman (Willodean) Screws, both of Cullman; three nephews, Steven (Karen) Screws of Gadsden, Philip (Donna) Screws of Decatur, and Archie (Terri) Screws of Cullman; two nieces, Lisa (Richard) Chambers of Cullman and Kathy (Butch) Giddens of Tampa, Fla.
