Gary W. Martin

Gary W. Martin, 59, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at his place of residence.

He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He received a bachelor of science degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College. He was retired from Magic Chef, Maytag and Whirlpool after 38 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Ruth Cavett Martin; and his brother, Bryant Martin.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Debbie Martin of Cleveland; daughter, Laurel Martin of Cleveland; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Frances Simpson of Cleveland; stepfather, Bill Locke of Etowah; brothers: Rod Martin and Kim David Martin, both of Cleveland; uncles: Ray Cavett and Ronnie Cavett, both of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Gibson officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to Junior Achievement, 850 Raider Drive, Cleveland TN 37312.
