Ronald E. Brewer, 68, of the town of Nasewaupee in Sturgeon Bay, WI, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at his home.
He was born June 3, 1944, in Redondo Beach, CA, the son of Clifford Arnold and Emily (Anderson) Brewer. After graduating from Eagle Rock High School in Los Angeles, CA, he served his country with the United States Army for a short period of time. Then, he attended Glendale College in California, where he studied business administration.
Ron worked as a general manager for Holiday Inn in Manitowoc, WI, and also in Beloit, IL. Eventually, he started Lynron, a hotel management company. Ron managed the Leathem Smith Lodge in Sturgeon Bay during the late 1970s through the early 1980s as well as the Nautical Inn until 1984, when he went to work in Illinois. In the late 1990s, he managed the Baileys Harbor Yacht Club and Wave Pointe Mari Resort.
On November 14, 1981, Ron was united in marriage to Lindy Lee Thorson. They were blessed with 31 years of marriage together. Lindy preceded him in death on December 1, 2012.
Ron was a member of Hainesville Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay and Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs while in Illinois. He loved traveling to new places with Lindy, especially Corpus Christi, TX, Hawaii, and Asia. Ron loved Lindy with all of his heart and always wanted to make her happy. He loved to (secretly) go around and do nice things for others.
Those left to mourn Ron's loss include his brother, Del (Karen) Brewer of Knoxville, TN; half siblings, Donna of CA, Mary of Houston, TX, and Clifford Brewer; mother-in-law, Irene Thorson of Nasewaupee; sister-in-law, Carrie Doell of Nasewaupee; brother-in-law, Eric; nieces and nephews; and other dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife, Lindy.
Ron's wishes were to have no public services. Burial will be in the Hainesville Cemetery.
