Mrs Mary Johns, widow of the late William Johns, formerly of Mt Plesant township, near McSherrystown, died Thursday of last week at Gettysburg where she lived since January, aged 69 years. She was twice married and a son of her first husband survives, John Sanders of Manchester, MD, together with a sister Miss Annie Small of McSherrystown, and two brothers, Aloysius Small of McSherrystown, and Joseph Small of Hanover. The funeral was held from St. Mary's Church, McSherrystown, last Saturday, Rev. Dr. L Aug. Reudter officiating, and interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Some conflicting data on her birth year: Death Certificate states 1848, 1850 Census shows her as 1, which would make birth year 1849 and then the obituary states her age as 69 which would make birth @1852.
