Jerry Dale Herd was born July 19, 1937 in Swink, OK, the son of Lee Herd and Thelma (Meador) Herd. He grew up in Swink and had lived most of his life in the Tulsa and Sand Springs, OK area prior to moving back to Swink approximately 5 years ago.
His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dixi (Herd) Henson.
Jerry married Daisy Lamm on June 4, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a 1955 graduate of Ft. Towson High School, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a 3rd generation Mason. Jerry retired from McDonald-Douglas working on F-15 and F-16 fighter jets and also worked as a machinist at Steel Tex. He enjoyed working, loved his family and spending time with his friends. He enjoyed going to Swink Basketball games and was a proud supporter of the Swink Wildcats. He also loved to dance.
