L. D. was saved 41 ½ years ago at Rocky Mountain Community Church. From then on, he served the Lord until his race was run. He married Wanda Kelley on April 30, 1960 and the Lord blessed them with over 52 years of marriage and a wonderful family. L. D. loved many things in life, especially his wife, kids and grandkids.
He attended Rocky Mountain School and Union Grade High School. He later attended OSU Tech in Okmulgee, OK. L. D. was the water manager of Adair County Rural Water Dist. #2 until he retired in 1997.
He loved his horses. He loved his job as the meter reader for Dist #2. If you asked him what he did, he would say "I am a meter reader" and then laugh. Most of all, he loved the Lord with all of his heart. He was a Proverb man.
Preceding him in death were his parents: F. M. and Haley Brannon, brothers: Burney and Junior Brannon, sisters: Rema Pettee, Erma York, Alleda Blevins and Pawnee Hey.
He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife: Wanda of the home in Stilwell, OK, children: Preston Brannon and wife Darla, Darren Brannon and wife Tonya, all of Tahlequah, OK, Samuel Brannon and wife Rosa of Stilwell, grandchildren: Derrick Brannon and wife Brittney and Patrick Brannon of Stilwell, DeShay Brannon of Tahlequah, sisters: Maxine Caldwell of Modesto, CA, Judy Brackett and husband Frank, Darlene Rill and husband Lewis, brothers: J.
