wife of Frank Hontz, an employee in the Mahoning yards who resides on Union Hill, died at her
home on Saturday morning after a long and wearying illness that was originally due to
rheumatism, which finally developed into consumption Mrs. Hontz was a daughter of the late
Solomon Stemler, of Stemlersville, and was aged 46 years, 3 months and 4 days. Besides her
husband and six children, she is survived by one brother Oliver Stemler, of Millport, and the
following sisters, Mrs. Sarah Arner, Mrs. James Smith and Mrs. Schnell, of Big Creek, and Mrs.
James Boyer, of near Reading. Her funeral was held Tuesday afternoon with services by Rev.
Peter C. Heimer. The deceased was a devoted member of Jacob's Reformed Church and an
active worker in its Sunday School. The pall bearers were: Willliam Fisher, Benjamin Peters,
Paul Strausburger, of town, and Morris D. Stout, Thomas Ratcliffe, George Shoemaker, of
Lehighton.
