Kyle Edward Ballard, 76, of Tompkinsville, formerly of Summer Shade, died Dec. 24, 2012, at his home.

He was a farmer and a son of the late Radford and Sallie Fansler Ballard.

He is survived by four daughters, Christina Ballard of Edmonton, Sinda Anderson and Karen Bartley, both of Summer Shade, and Becky (Davis) Hurt of Glasgow; three sons, Jason (Jessica) Ballard of Gamaliel, Ricky (Debbie) Ballard of Summer Shade, and Duane (Kim) Ballard of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Ruby Hendershot of Chicago, Ill., and Helen Miller of Alexandria; one brother, Kenneth Ballard of Tompkinsville; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Timmy Ballard, and one brother and several sisters.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 28, at 1:00 pm at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Mark Parks officiating. Burial followed in Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation began Thursday, Dec. 27, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
