Caswell M. Miles, died at his home near Florence on Monday, Feb 15, 1904. He was born in this country Oct 1815, dying at the ripe old age of 88 years. He was the son of Patterson Miles, who was a son of Thomas Miles, of Revolutionary fame.
He was twice married, 1st to Miss Nancy Gentry, a niece of the noted Meredith P. Gentry; 2nd to Miss Sarah Russwurm. He was a pillar in the Bethel Church, near Florence. He is one of the last 2 children of a family of nine, the only member of his family now living is a sister, Mrs. R. G. Partee of Bell Buckle. He was a brother of the latte Col. Benton Miles.
5 children survive: Mr. T. G. Miles of Dentoville; Louise Miles and Aswell M. Miles, Jr. of Florence; John Miles of AR; Mrs. William M. Bell of this city.
