Mr. Thompson was a graduate of Wea High School and had been a machinist at the Ross Gear plant here for 39 years until his retirement in 1955. He was a member of Jehovah's Witness Church and United Auto Workers Local 531.
Surviving are a son, Ronald M. Thompson (wife Isabel) of West Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Ray G. Wood, also of Lafayette; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Raymond Thompson in 1957.
