She moved to Washington state in her late teens, and married Perry Van Over. She was the mother of William and Ted, and the foster mother of Zelda Louise McBurney (Lovegren). She also had a hand in raising her nephew/cousin Norvin (a.k.a. Red) Van Over.
Most of Nora's adult life was spent on the farm that she and Perry bought just outside of Everson, Whatcom Co., Washington, in the late 19-teens. The farm accommodated up to six dairy cows, and had space for growing crops for sale, most often raspberries and green beans.
Nora had five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and her house was often the center of family gatherings, particularly during fishing and hunting seasons, and for holidays and other family occasions.
