Mrs. Towery was a long time resident of Odessa and had moved to Luling to be near her daughters in December 2004. Mrs. Towery was a partner with her husband, Alton in missionary work in Odessa called Operation Blessings. Mrs. Towery was quite the lady who loved her Lord, husband and children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Eugene Towery, who died March 12, 2004; and her son, Donel Towery in 1998.
She is survived by her sister, Vera Estepp of Waxahachie; daughters JoAnn Alexander of Fort Worth, Wanda Jean Sweatt and son-in-law, Kerry Sweatt, of Leakey, and Joyce Williams of Luling; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Towery of Branson, Mo. Mrs. Towery also has 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces; and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Robinson, a long-time friend, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
