Mrs. Hurley was born in Davidson County on November 6, 1929 to the late Harvey and Minnie Lee Everhart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Everhart and her husband of 45 years, Reverend Robin W. Hurley. Prior to his death in 1992, she was active in her husband's ministry while serving United Methodist Churches in the Western North Carolina Conference.
Mrs. Hurley attended high school in Troy NC and furthered her education in Christian Education at Pfeiffer University. In addition to being a talented homemaker and lovingly caring for her family, she touched the lives of many elementary school children as a teacher's assistant. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church where she enjoyed service opportunities and special friendships within the Trinity Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Hurley is survived by two daughters, a sister and brother, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
