Funeral services for Herbert Leslie (Darby) Elmore, 85, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Cumerford Endsley Memorial Home with the Rev. E. L. Fernandes of Arcadia Avenue Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the memorial home after 4 p.m. today.

Mr. Elmore, who resided at the home of a grandniece. Mrs. Margaret Davidson, 1000 W. McClure Ave., died unexpectedly at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday of an apparent heart attack while working in the yard.

A resident of Peoria 75 years. he formerly made his home at 316 Sixth Ave. For 25 years, he operated a mail route between here and Canton.

Born in Peru N.Y. April 17, 1870, he was a son of James W. and Lydia Ann Hicks Elmore. He married Elfa M. Davidson in Washburn on May 11, 1901. Mrs. Elmore died in Peoria in 1946.

He was a member of Fay Hawes Camp and Royal Neighbors of America.

Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Marie Lloyd Scott; a grandchild;; his grandniece and two great grandchildren.
