She was a daughter of the late Samuel Walton and Geneva Willard Maultsby. Mrs. Bell was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and was a 4-H Leader for 18 years. She was retired from the NC Forestry Service as a Sunny Point Tower Operator and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Bell; a son, Charles Walton Bell lost at Holden Beach, NC, July, 10, 1955, and never found; a grandson, Bradley Bell; a foster daughter, Colleen Gravely; a brother, Hurley Maultsby; and a sister, Edna Gaskill.
Survivors include two sons, Julian Bell and wife Sharon, of Bolivia, Harvey Bell of Bolivia; a daughter, Joyce Brown of Supply; a sister, Ina Corey of Lake Ridge, VA; grandchildren, Kim Frazier and husband Lei, Jeremy Bell, James Brown and wife Janet, Scott Brown, and Charles Brown; and great-grandchildren, Nicole Brown, Jessica Bell, Allyson Bell, Hunter Frazier and James Brown, III.
