DEATH OF MRS. JENNIE YANCY
Mrs. Jennie Yancy, who was a widow of the late Daniel Yancy, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.M. Camp on December 18th and interred in the New Cemetery on the 19th at 10 a.m.
The deceased was 82 years old and had been sorely afflicted for many years.
For several years she had been almost totally blind and helpless.
Her husband came from the state of Virginia just before or after the Civil war. He served as a Confederate soldier until the war closed and made a faithful soldier.
For a number of years the family lived about 3 miles from the town on the Summerfield road where Bill Chapman now lives.
Afterwards the widow lived where Mrs. J.E. Smith now lives and finally moved out to the country about 3 miles west of town.
She was a faithful member of the church but for the last 5 or 6 years had not been able to attend.
Peace to her care worn soul.
