Frances Winifred "Winnie" Harrington, 94, of Fayetteville, Georgia, died peacefully at Southwest Christian Care on October 20, 2008. Mrs. Harrington was born December 26, 1913 in Indianola, Ilinois to the late Samuel Franklin Baldwin and Flora Belle Baum Baldwin. She graduated with a teaching degree from Normal Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University. She taught at Grayslake (IL) High School for 20 years, as well as being a guidance counselor and the head of the business department. She was an active member of Mary Branan Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Daniel Harrington who passed in 1961, and her sister, Dorothy Plakas. She is survived by daughters, Barbara (Darryl) Burris of St. Augustine, Florida and Sherry (Robert) Studebaker of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jason Burris of Crystal Lake, IL, Halle Burris of Elgin, IL, and Cara Sampson of Deland, FL; great-grandchildren, Danny and Katie Burris, and Luke and Zach Sampson; brother, Don (Florence) Baldwin of Danville, IL; nieces, Donna Hunt of Columbus, GA and Sandy Scarlett of Indianola, IL; as well as several cousins.
Memorial service held Saturday, November 1 at the Mary Branan Methodist Church, Atlanta, GA, with Dr. James Powell officiating. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements.
