DAVENPORT - Loretta E. Neufeld, wife of Dr. Robert J. Neufeld, (deceased) co-founder of the Davenport West End Clinic, passed away on January 27, 2013. Loretta moved to California to be closer to her three children, Richard W. Neufeld of Grover Beach, Lori Beckstrand of Spring Valley and Mary Fran Cornick (deceased) of La Mesa. Loretta left 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
As a graduate from Saint Xavier University Chicago in 1939, she was one of four who participated in the first integrated baccalaureate program of nursing in Illinois. A remembrance can be made to Assumption High School towards the scholarship in her name. A graveside service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, on February 22 at 11 a.m.
