Virgil D. Rogers, 64, Guymon resident for the past 24 years died Friday evening at St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. The son of Albert and Ethel Rogers, he was born Jan. 5, 1925 at Esthelline, Texas

He married Velma D. Richerson Oct.22, 1947 at Memphis, Texas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 1979. Mr. Rogers moved to Guymon from Stinnett, Texas in 1965 and was employed as a butcher the majority of his working life.

He was a member of the Guymon First Baptist Church and served as a corporal in the United States Army during World War II.

Survivors include one daughter, Dollie D. Espinoza of St. Cloud, Minn.; two granddaughter, Wendy Ehrlich of Amarillo, Texas and Tina Young of Garland, Texas; two brothers, Clyde W. Rogers of Turkey, Texas and J. A. Rogers, Jr. of Anton, Teas; two sisters, Mary McAllister of Sheridan, Wyo., and Laverne Rogers of Kalispell, Montana.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m from the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Guymon with Rev. John Flanagan officiating. Interment will be in the Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of the Bunch Roberts Funeral Home.
