He was born in Cloverport, KY on May 30, 1939, the son of the late John Marion and Frances Aline Smith Allen. He retired from Willamette Industries and was a graduate of Sebree High School in Webster County, KY. He was an avid U of K basketball fan, enjoyed camping, building doghouses and jug fishing. He loved his dog "Spiz".
He was preceded in death by his daughter: Monica Lynn Allen and his granddaughter: Stephanie Ann Henning
