A native and lifelong resident of Palatla, he served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He retired from Georgia-Pacific as a Jordan Room operator after 37 years of service. He was also a member of Peniel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ethel Knight, Palatka; four daughters and son-in-law, Pat Godwin, Lynne Howe, Marjorie and Ken Jacopec and Christine Knight, all of Palatka.; two sons and daughter-in-law, John Wayne Knight, Palatka and David and Julie Knight, Interlachen; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 17 at the funeral home with Bro. Benny Reynolds officiating. Burial followed in Palatka Memorial Gardens with the U.S. Navy conducting military honors.
